Our Mission

Breaking the cycle of incarceration through stable housing and community support.

A second chance begins with a home

Rebase bridges the critical gap between incarceration and successful reentry: housing. We recognize that stable housing is the foundation upon which all other aspects of successful reintegration are built.

Our comprehensive housing directory connects individuals returning from incarceration with verified housing options, support services, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives and integrate into society more easily.

Our Story

Rebase was born out of a need recognized well before its official start. It was founded by Leo DeCock, a student at Regis High School, who saw firsthand the urgent need for more accessible housing in New York City, not least for ex-incarcerated individuals.

Rebase was created as a database that would compile every option into one simple place. But it is also a comprehensive platform that not only connects individuals with housing but also case management, employment support, and community resources.

Today, Rebase continues to expand its network of partners and services, always guided by the belief that stable housing is the foundation of successful reentry.
